Scholarship Information

Every year, ASCE San Diego YMF awards three scholarships to students interested in pursuing a degree in civil engineering or related field at a four-year university.

The names of the 2012 scholarship winners were released in our April meeting. Check out their bios!

We'll be posting information and application form for 2013 scholarship at the end of this year.  

Congratulations to the 2012 Scholarship Recipients

 Ryan Faherty
A student at San Diego State University, Ryan is pursuing his degree in Environmental Engineering. He has been actively involved in ASCE as the student chapter President, and with Global Water Brigades helping to construct a water filtration system in Honduras. Ryan has experience as an Intern at the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board, and aspires for a career in Water Resource Management.

Sydney Sroka
A student at University of California, San Diego, Sydney is pursuing her degree in Structural Engineering. She has been actively involved in SCSE and in particular with the Steel Bridge Team. Sydney has experience as a Research Assistant at UCSD as well as working in the Powell Structural Systems Laboratory, and is largely interested in modal analysis and behavior of large civil structures. 

Angelica Rojas-Colin
A student at San Diego City College, Angelica will be transferring to San Diego State University to pursue her degree in Civil Engineering. She has been involved in the Math Engineering and Science Achievement (MESA) program, volunteered as a peer mentor for high school students, and Secretary for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). Angelica has experience as an Intern at Caltrans as well as tutoring at her college.
