Greetings Younger Member Forum!
I'm thrilled to kick off the 2024 New Year by expressing to you what an my absolute honor it has been serving as your president this year. Fulfilling this role is a privilege that fills me with immense pride as I stand alongside such an amazing group of individuals within the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) community. My involvement with ASCE began eight years ago and the friendships that have formed amongst all of you have made it an unforgettable ride. What truly makes this experience extraordinary is the passion and dedication each of you brings to our ASCE family. You're the heartbeat of what makes us shine! Our 21-person board and committee members continue to work hard in fostering an environment where young civil engineering professionals not only thrive but flourish. From our first Summer Engineering Day at the Mall to Officers Retreat, the Golf Tournament, and socials, we've showcased the vibrancy and spirit of our chapter. An extra shoutout to the 52 folks who made it to our Welcome Back Happy Hour and made it an absolute blast! As I fondly look back on this past year, I share with you what is on the horizon in the new year! Gear up for our inaugural ASCE YMF Fundraising Winter Gala! This event will serve as a landmark fundraiser as the San Diego chapter will be hosting the January 2025 Western Regional Younger Member Council Conference (WRYMC). Exciting times are ahead! I would also like to extend a warm welcome to all the new members who have recently joined our organization and to those unsung heroes who have loyally attended many of our events over the years. We are thrilled to welcome new faces and filled with joy to visit in with life-long ASCE friends. Your contributions, regardless of their size, illuminate our ASCE family. Every effort counts and continues to drive us toward our mission statement of promoting the Civil Engineering profession to the greater San Diego community and providing a transition for engineers from students to the professional world through social, educational, and philanthropic events.
