STUDENT ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP

The ASCE San Diego Chapter Organizations are collecting applications for the purpose of awarding student scholarships to those interested in pursuing a degree in Civil, Environmental, or Construction Engineering, or a related field at a four-year university. 

$7,500 in award with a minimum of 8 opportunities to win!
Provided by ASCE San Diego Section, YMF, and Pipeline-Environmental Group.
​Scholarship Application Deadline: March 27th 2020

Eligibility

All applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.8
Undergraduate or first year graduate students:
Must currently be enrolled in a civil, environmental, construction, or related program at UCSD or SDSU. Open to individuals with academic standing of freshman through first year graduate student. Students completing their education in Spring/Summer 2020 are not eligible. 
Community college transfer students:
Must be transferring to a four-year university, located in San Diego County, and enrolling in a civil, environmental, construction, or related program for the 2020-2021 academic year.​

Please be sure that all documents (written responses, resume, and transcript) are saved and uploaded as separate PDFs when submitting the application.

Prompts

Please respond to all four prompts and submit responses in one PDF document. Responses should address the question and provide the Scholarship Committee with enough information to make an informed decision. Responses are limited to approximately 500 words.

  1. What motivates you to pursue a career in Civil, Environmental, or Construction Engineering?
  2. What are your professional goals?
  3. Summarize your involvement in student and volunteer activities, such as ASCE, Key Club, etc. and discuss any leadership positions you held.
  4. Summarize your work/internship/research experience.
